Local Girls Island Style Snack- Check it out!
Hawaiian Pineapple with Plum powder, made by Diana Byars, Corte Madera’s very own native Hawaiian, long standing supervisor and server extraordinaire. Recently, for her daughter’s Heritage Day at school, Diana made this delectable, sweet treat from her homeland. She was kind enough to share some with me, and it truly is a treat. Passed on through her family, this particular pineapple dish proved to be a hit with the other second graders and their families.
In Hawaii, Di says this and various other types of flavored pineapple can be found nearly everywhere: at the grocery store, local vendors, the Aloha Stadium and at the beach for sale. Cut in various manners and with ranging amounts of the plum powder, always refreshing and local - this pineapple goodness goes way back.
